EPT (N-ethyl-N-propyltryptamine) is a synthetic tryptamine and an N,N-dialkylated indoleethylamine structurally related to other tryptamine psychedelics. 1 Published literature describes EPT as a new psychoactive substance, and recent papers have focused mainly on its structure, metabolism, and forensic identification rather than controlled human clinical research. 1 Available data on its pharmacology, toxicity, interaction profile, and long-term effects remain incomplete; one toxicology study notes it is supposed to act as a partial agonist at the 5-HT2A receptor. 1 Because the evidence base is limited, there is substantial uncertainty around human effects, adverse reactions, and purity in unregulated samples. 1
